Nothing Good 03:45
Nothing good ever came easy Always leaves me off my guard You gotta work for what you get But why's it got to be so hard? Nothing good ever came quickly Never learned with any speed I paid my way in tears in blood sweat and years Keep digging in Stop checking out Keep moving on! Keep clocking in Stop punching out Keep going strong! Everything you had came easy Never practiced what you taught No satisfaction from a hard day's work No joy in what you bought When I look at what I've done The fruits of what I've made It means so much more With the price that I've paid Keep digging in….

Thieving autumn steals the colour from the sky and paints the leaves in lavish shades of gold and red Thieving autumn robs the hours from the days She draws the heat away and sends a steady rain. Just like her sister Winter With her icy fingers She strips the leaves from the trees with surprising ease She stirs up whirlpools of leaves Bends the trees on a whim Catches dandelion umbrellas And blows them away, like a kiss Thieving autumn with her dancing eyes and hair Feeds the birds with stolen berries red and sweet Thieving Autumn hides the acorns in the lawn And fills her cheeks with tasty treats and sumptuous feasts Just like her sister Winter With her icy fingers She makes it freeze when she breathes, with the spell she weaves. With a wave of her sleeve, she’s the queen of intrigue Her mercurial moods darken the sky and cover the nights with mystery Thieving Autumn shrouds the fields in morning mists And plants the seeds for tiny fronds of frost to grow Thieving autumn holds the golden sun to ransom Steals his strength and conjures stormy winds to blow Just like her sister Winter With her icy fingers She wants to hypnotise the world and send it to sleep She breathes the coolest breeze Sways the trees till they creak Dances with leaves, she’ll do as she’ll please Totally free

Solitude in numbers Silence in a crowd We don’t speak but we hit ‘like’ Heads in the cloud Caught in the web, we don’t move Are we truly alive? Distracted to the surface But what lies beneath Curating a collection of friends We are spread thin Solitude in numbers Silence in a crowd We don’t speak but we hit ‘like’ Heads in the cloud Caught in the web we don’t move Are we truly alive? The capsules shrink around us Individually shaped We need to come out of our shells Before we suffocate Solitude in numbers Silence in a crowd We don’t speak but we hit ‘like’ Heads in the cloud Caught in the web we don’t move Are we truly alive?

Niagara 03:41
Just me and my little boat Doing well just to stay afloat The current has a tendency to pull us along, Inching nearer to the danger zone I took a life jacket and a safety flare A torch and some biscuits and an oar for spare Let no-one say I wasn’t safety aware Let no-one say I did not go prepared Faced with the spectacular Niagara Falls I'm rowing back hard, against the flow I wanted to go out and enjoy the view But the river is seductive and it draws you I did the risk assessment and I went ahead I didn’t think that I could wind up dead Let no one say I wasn’t safety aware But the current is strong when you get out there But when you let your boat drift far enough downstream You start to see things are not what they seemed.

Survival 05:25
There ain’t no satisfaction in this poverty While the fat-cat’s getting sleeker now High on prosperity But that’s the way it goes - everybody knows I don’t dare turn my heating up Can’t afford a proper meal So much for being equal, and a level playing field But that’s the way it goes - everybody knows Turn on the news to listen, on the brink of WW3 Posturing politicians playing games no-one can win But that’s the way it goes - everybody knows The truth gets squeezed to fill the need of corporate greed And companies find ways to hijack our democracy But that’s the way it goes - everybody knows Distracted by our smartphones and our Twitter feed Anaesthetised by Facebook and reality TV That’s the way it goes - everybody knows We’ve never been so connected, but the disconnect is real There’s freedom of expression, but beware the thought police But that’s the way it goes - everybody knows We’ve never been so empowered, but the straitjacket is real There’s freedom of information, but the facts are hard to see But that’s the way it goes - everybody knows. Who’s pulling your strings? Who’s pulling your strings? Please tell me you’re free When you’ve run out of all your options And you’re turning out the lights Praying for some kind of miracle That’ll light your dark tonight But that’s the way it goes - everybody knows

You can only get away with it for so long: Cutting corners Taking advantage Taking from the weak Hoarding what was never yours Moral bankruptcy There always comes a time when the birds come home to roost There always comes a time when the sorry facts reveal the truth. There will always come a time When justice will prevail When the scales fall back to balance When the powerful have failed May I tell you, you’re on borrowed time Like a prisoner on death row You can only get away with it for so long until injustice is exposed

This battle isn’t over The fight’s been fought A truce declared This battle isn’t over But rest assured We won’t get scared This battle isn’t over The young and old If truth be told (This battle isn’t over) We’re in accord We’re fighting for the same things We all stand against the lies Against the language of hate That's trying to propagate Against the flaky views and alternative truth Spread in the fake news

One Fine Day 03:56
Standing on the shoulders of giants Looking out over the land Feeling the sun on my back I won’t turn from the task in hand Cry out in anticipation Of what we’re setting out to do Is this right I’m in a bubble Can’t believe I’m gonna do this without you Go go go Open your eyes and see Go go go One fine day come back to me Standing on the edge of tomorrow Toes still dipped in yesterday Shake off all frustrations Need to let you make your own mistakes Heart beats Hold still Take a breath I will Don’t blink Pull tight Told you I was right
